"Everyone really enjoyed the music, it felt like a very personal ceremony thanks to you."

David and Emily Gosset.

Introduction:

Alex Taylor - violinist specialising in weddings and corporate events.

I'm an Australian violinist now living in Bristol, UK. I am classically trained and also enjoy playing jazz, swing, folk and tango. As a versatile performer I have no difficulty in providing different types of music as required and can be booked as a solo artist or with either of my two bands; 'The Ministry Of Swing' or 'The Zero Day Jazz Trio'.

Here are some examples of the styles of music I perform:

Traditional Celtic (Irish and Scottish)

Celtic music, performed by a solo violinist can create a very warm and intimate atmosphere that is perfect for walking down the isle, signing the registry or as background music as guests arrive and depart.

Classical

Almost everyone is familiar with the classic, 'Pachabel's Canon', a favourite choice for wedding ceremonies for generations. Here is my arrangement for solo violin, followed by 'Meditation' by Massanet and my own composition; 'Innamorati'.

Jazz Ballad's with Zero Day Jazz Trio

Ideal background music for a reception, my jazz trio performs famous ballads such as 'Angel Eyes', 'My Funny Valentine' and 'My Favourite Things'.

Gypsy Jazz with Ministry Of Swing

For those wishing for a more lively feel, my gypsy jazz ensemble plays up-tempo swing classics from the 1930s such as 'Sweet Sue' and 'All Of Me' in the style of Django Rheindhardt and Stephan Grappelli. Here is our promo video:

Gypsy Violin + Laptop

My solo project, Salvonia, is a mix of gypsy violin with electronic backing, using minimal dubstep beats and bass. Think steampunk disco. Again, this music is perfect for the reception.

The ability to perform in different styles means I can provide a package of wedding music to suit individual needs. The cost will vary according to what is required. I like to keep my prices down where possible, for instance, I often perform my jazz pieces to high quality backing tracks instead of a full band.
